Meghadoot - A Hybrid Network Architecture
Meghadoot is hybrid wireless network architecture, which is designed for low cost rural networks. Rural communication consists of two parts (a) Long-haul access link which brings Internet to the village, and (b) A distribution network in the village which forms the last mile.
Meghadoot provides a multi-hop wireless last mile solution as opposed to the traditional wired or wireless last mile [1]. An illustration of the Meghadoot Architecture is shown in Figure 1.1.
