- Meghadoot combines the features of both infrastructure-based networks and infrastructure-less networks into a single network architecture, i.e., it has quicker and efficient route computation, without too much of control overhead.
- Low cost of setting up the network and maintenance as a Meghadoot node only requires an IEEE 802.11 card, which is available off-the-shelf.
- License-free bandwidth is used for communication within one Meghadoot Zone.
- Extended coverage as each node also functions as a router.
