Conclusions

Although many protocols have been proposed for wireless and ad hoc wireless networks, very few have been practically demonstrated. Meghadoot is one of them. Moreover, a Meghadoot network is very inexpensive to setup. In addition to a computer, all that is required for a mobile node is an IEEE 802.11 wireless card, which is available off-the-shelf. Even the software which is used on these mobile nodes is free and open-source (Linux).
