Although control and ad hoc zones are conceptually different, data can be transfered across these zones. Gateway nodes have the responsibility of ensuring that control information is transferred across the zones in a proper manner. They act as routing protocol bridges: switching Meghadoot protocol packets from one format to another. Data handling in Meghadoot architecture is uniform, irrespective of the zones.
